REMARKS:
After P&O converted the ship's accommodation from day to night requirements
the ships deadwieght was greatly reduced. Side sponsons were fitted to
increase the deadweight tonnage. Her beam was additionally increased as a
result. Conversion work was carried out prior to entering service at Lloyd
Werft yard, Bremerhaven, Germany. Ship had half decks on the port side only,
which only spanned 2 of the 3 lanes on the port side. Vessel was originally
Ro-Ro on the Aberdeen Lerwick route. Her bow was however sealed making her
stern loading only. Vessel was also designed with side entrance doors, port
side at the bow and starboard side at the stern.
