 DATE  NEWS
24/07/08 Bute was spotted out on trials at lunchtime and she returned to service with the 1300 ex Wemyss Bay. Saturn was in service as her relief during the morning and then handed back to the regular vessel at Wemyss Bay this afternoon, before refuelling and heading down to Ardrossan to resume the Arran roster with the 1630 sailing.

23/07/08 Bute suffered technical problems on her 0845 ex Wemyss Bay this morning and was forced to sail over to Rothesay using only one azi-pod at an average speed of 8.5 knots. She then moved to the overnight berth where the old linkspan used to be and Argyle was forced to sail alone on a 50% frequency timetable for the remainder of the day.
It was later announced that Saturn was to move north to her old haunts

and cover for the stricken Bute. In the end she sailed from Ardrossan to Wemyss Bay for an overnight berth - a rare event these days!

21/07/08 One of the Largs - Cumbrae Slip ferries, reportedly Loch Shira, was off service for a while today and Loch Riddon was called on to sail alone during the afternoon. The larger ferry, we understand, returned to service in the evening.

12/07/08 Hebrides was running late this evening following delays earlier in the day due to heavy traffic. She got away from Tarbert at 2020 and is expected into Uig at 2200.

11/07/08 WESTERN ISLES:
Isle of Lewis
was running approximately 45 minutes late this evening as a result of traffic levels on the Ullapool - Stornoway route.

10/07/08 CLYDE:
Loch Bhrusda
crossed the Clyde once again today on a short hop over to Rosneath where she resumed her role as spare ferry.

09/07/08 CLYDE:
Loch Bhrusda
suffered problems with one of her ramps early this afternoon and was forced to sail single ended for a while. Loch Riddon was recalled early from Greenock to allow the relief vessel away, and resumed service alongside regular consort Loch Shira. Loch Bhrusda then left for Gourock and an overnight berth at the wires. She was spotted passing Inverkip shortly after 2000.

03/07/08 WESTERN ISLES:
Hebridean Isles
was out of service this morning. As a result the Isle of Arran left Islay on an unscheduled 0415 sailing in order to pick up the main roster with the 0700 sailing from Kennacraig to Port Ellen. It was noted that Hebridean Isles was back on duty for the 1300 sailing. Isle of Arran then left Kennacraig to return to Port Ellen to allow her to take her scheduled 1800 inward sailing.

02/07/08 CLYDE:
Loch Tarbert
was unable to berth at Claonaig slipway this morning due to the weather conditions on her 0930 sailing from Lochranza. She was forced to return to Arran and then set sail for Tarbert at 1045, arriving as Isle of Cumbrae left at 1215. She then returned to Lochranza and the decision was taken to sail for Tarbert again with a final sailing back from Tarbert later in the afternoon.
Saturn was also off for a while this morning as her 0900 sailing from Ardrossan to Brodick was cancelled due to technical problems.
